Enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative screening of IgG antibodies against RNP, Sm, SS-A/Ro, SS-B/La, Scl-70 and Jo-1 in human serum. Circulating autoantibodies against various intracellular antigens are characteristic for systemic, autoimmunemediated rheumatic diseases. These comprise systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), Sjögren's syndrome (SS), progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS, scleroderma), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and polymyositis (PM). Often, these disorders can be diagnosed by measuring their associated antibodies.
