Neonatal screening

Newborn screening is a public health program designed to screen infants shortly after birth for a list of conditions that are treatable, but not clinically evident in the newborn period. If these conditions are identified at time of birth, the child can be treated and saved from potentially devastating consequences. IBL International offers neonatal screening tests for cystic fibrosis (IRT) and phenylketonuria (PKU). A TSH neonatal screening assay (congenital hypotyroidism) and a 17-OH-Progesterone neonatal screening assay (congenital adrenal hyperplasia) will be available soon.
